The Texas Christian Film Expansion Initiative, "TXCFEI," was created out of a God inspired vision for His children to have the means necessary to build His kingdom through film. We are seeking to help bring visions to life for those filmmakers that God has chosen for such a time as this.
Often we hear of those who have felt God call them to make a film, but they never complete it due to lack of funding, or if they do complete a film the it is so low budget that it's considered sub-par, when compared to big-budget Hollywood style films.
The time to change that is now.
Though prayerful consideration and generous donors, we will fulfill God's commission to spread the Gospel to every nation, kindred and tongue. TXCFEI is seeking not only to create biblical stories, but those that apply Christian values, and share gospel messages directly and indirectly on set, through story telling, and with film follow-ups. And unlike most other funders for film, films selected for funding will maintain full creative control to tell their story as they feel God directs them.
Texas is quickly becoming one of the most attractive destinations for filmmakers—offering a powerful combination of financial incentives, diverse landscapes, and production-friendly infrastructure.
Why Film in Texas?
Texas provides major financial advantages through the Texas Moving Image Industry Incentive Program (TMIIIP), which offers cash grants of up to ~31% on qualified in-state spending. Additional bonuses are available for hiring local crew, filming in rural areas, or meeting specific criteria, and the state has committed $300 million in funding every two years through 2035, giving filmmakers long-term reliability.
Beyond incentives, Texas delivers incredible visual variety in one state. Productions can access deserts, beaches, forests, mountains, urban skylines, and small rural towns—all within a few hours’ travel—making it possible to double multiple locations without leaving the state.
Filmmakers also benefit from a growing local workforce, production infrastructure, and film-friendly policies, along with additional perks like sales tax exemptions and local city incentives in major hubs like Austin, Dallas, and Houston.
In short: Texas offers filmmakers more value on screen and on budget—with strong government support, diverse landscapes, and the ability to scale productions efficiently in one place.
